Goliath and the Vampires

Maciste renamed again, fighting a shapeshifter. Cheerfully incoherent.

The strongman hero Maciste, renamed Goliath for the English market as usual, battles a shapeshifting sorcerer and his army of blue-skinned zombie slaves to rescue kidnapped villagers. The plot is cheerfully incoherent, throwing monsters and magic at the muscleman with no particular logic.

It is a fun, disposable entry that leans further into fantasy and horror than most peplum, and the villain's supernatural powers give it a pulpy energy. Mario Bava reportedly contributed to the effects.

Silly, colourful and representative of the cycle at its most imaginative.
