Jaws with a bear, pitched in exactly those words, and it worked well enough to become one of the most profitable independent films of its year. An enormous rogue grizzly stalks a national park while an official keeps it open for the season, and the beats are lifted wholesale from Spielberg.

It is shameless and efficient, with a real bear and some tense attacks, and it never pretends to be anything other than what it is. William Girdler directs it as pure drive-in product.
