Alucarda

The most hysterical nunsploitation film ever made. A convent, two possessed girls, and constant screaming.

A delirious Mexican nunsploitation-horror film in which two orphan girls at a gloomy convent form an intense bond, awaken a demonic force, and become the focus of possession, blood and near-continuous shrieking. The nuns wear blood-soaked bandage-like habits, the crypts drip, and the film operates at a pitch of hysteria few horror films sustain.

Juan Lopez Moctezuma directs it as pure gothic excess, drawing on Carmilla and every convent-horror trope at once. It is exhausting, beautiful and utterly committed to its own fever. One of the wildest films in the whole subgenre.
