Danger: Diabolik

Mario Bava takes a fraction of a real budget and makes it look like the richest pop-art film of the decade. A master thief and his lover rob the establishment blind from an underground lair, and Bava builds the whole world out of clever angles, coloured light and matte paintings because he could not afford anything else.

John Phillip Law barely speaks and does not need to. The film is about design, motion and Ennio Morricone's grooving score, and it is one of the best-looking things on this entire site.
