Nekromantik 2

Jorg Buttgereit picks up where the first film left a corpse and this time hands the story to a woman, a nurse who digs up that body and tries to build something like a relationship with it while also seeing a living man. German prosecutors seized the negative days after release and put Buttgereit on trial, which is roughly the reaction the Nekromantik name exists to provoke. Like its predecessor it is slow, grainy, oddly tender, and far more interested in loneliness than in the gross-outs the title promises, though the gross-outs are present and correct. The infamous ending is a properly funny sight gag hiding inside a film nobody would otherwise call funny. Bleak, oddly tender, and unrepeatable.
