The Eternal Evil of Asia

A group of Hong Kong friends holiday in Thailand, offend the wrong sorcerer, and spend the rest of the film being picked off by escalating curses. That is the whole structure, and it exists to turn a special-effects department loose: flying severed heads, worms, spontaneous combustion, and the single most notorious transformation gag in all of Category III, which reshapes a victim's head into male anatomy. Cash Chin directs it as horror-comedy with the comedy dial welded to maximum, so it never sits still long enough to actually frighten you. It is one of the most cheerfully deranged things the Cat III boom coughed up, and the Cat III boom coughed up plenty. Watch it with people who will not hold it against you.
