Lady Terminator

The Terminator, if the machine were a sea goddess and had no shame whatsoever.

H. Tjut Djalil watched The Terminator and decided the one thing it lacked was an Indonesian sea deity. A graduate student researching the Queen of the South Sea gets possessed by the goddess's vengeful eel, comes out the other side as an unkillable killing machine in sunglasses, and hunts modern Jakarta with a rifle and Cameron's exact beat sheet. It lifts the plot and most of the setpieces wholesale, then keeps firing long after the budget has visibly run out. The dubbing is atrocious, the squib count is heroic, and it was cut or banned in enough territories to earn its reputation twice over. The folklore is all front-loaded; the back half is ninety minutes of muzzle flash, and nobody watching wanted it any other way.

The Indonesian one everybody means: a flying witch's head, viscera trailing, hunting in the dark.
