Duck, You Sucker
Leone's revolution film. A Mexican bandit and an IRA dynamiter blow up the establishment together.
Sergio Leone's last western, also known as A Fistful of Dynamite, is his most political and most personal, following a Mexican bandit and a disillusioned Irish explosives expert swept up in the Mexican Revolution. It is more cynical about revolution than the Zapata westerns, and considerably sadder.
Rod Steiger and James Coburn make an odd, effective pair, and Morricone's score is among his most tender. Long, uneven and deeply felt, it is a fitting end to Leone's western career and much better than its troubled reputation.
