Hell of the Living Dead

Bruno Mattei rips off Dawn of the Dead with a Goblin score he also stole. Gloriously shameless.

Bruno Mattei's cheerfully plagiaristic zombie film, which reuses Goblin's Dawn of the Dead score without permission and pads its running time with stock nature-documentary footage. A chemical leak at a New Guinea facility raises the dead, and a commando team and a reporter wade through the carnage.

It is incompetent in ways that are entertaining, a greatest-hits compilation of other, better films. For connoisseurs of Italian zombie trash it is an essential low point.

Revenge via Haitian zombies. The best of the blaxploitation horror crossovers.
