Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS

The most notorious entry in the cycle, and its production history tells you everything. It was shot in nine days on the standing set of the sitcom Hogan's Heroes, immediately after that show was cancelled, and Dyanne Thorne plays a camp commandant conducting sadistic experiments before the inevitable revolt.

It is crude, cruel exploitation using the ultimate taboo setting as a backdrop for sex and torture, and it spawned three sequels as Ilsa relocated to a harem and a prison. It is catalogued here as industrial history, not entertainment.

Genuinely tasteless, and studied more than it is enjoyed.
