The Blood Beast Terror
Cushing called it the worst film he ever made. He was being generous.
Peter Cushing called it the worst film he ever made, and he was being generous. A Victorian entomologist's daughter is, through a plot best not examined, a giant were-moth who drains men of blood, and the monster works only in the wide shots where you cannot see it.
It is bottom-tier British gothic, stiff and cheap, and its reputation rests almost entirely on Cushing's dismissal of it. There is a certain fascination in watching consummate professionals soldier through obvious nonsense.
For gothic completists and Cushing obsessives only.

Horrors of Malformed Men
Suppressed by Toei for decades. Butoh dancing, an island, and total delirium.
The Curse of the Crying Woman
The Mexican gothic at its cobwebbed peak, Universal horror with the fog cranked up.
The Brainiac
Not a Santo film. A forked-tongue demon eating brains with a spoon.
Requiem for a Vampire
Rollin at his purest. Two women in clown costume, a castle, almost no dialogue.
Ganja & Hess
An art film that was sold as a vampire picture. Recut and buried for decades.
Spider Baby
Jack Hill's first, Lon Chaney Jr's last good role. Very odd and very fond.
