The Case of the Bloody Iris

Edwige Fenech and George Hilton, the giallo's most reliable double act, in a body-count mystery set in a glossy Milan high-rise where the tenants keep getting killed. A model moves into an apartment whose last occupant was murdered in it, the neighbours are all suspects and all deviants, and screenwriter Ernesto Gastaldi throws red herrings faster than anyone can catch them. Nobody here is chasing Argento. The whole ambition is to put Fenech in peril in a nice frock for ninety minutes, and at that it is close to perfect. The plot is nonsense and the film knows it. Bright, silly, sleazy comfort viewing for the cycle's faithful.
