Who Saw Her Die?

A child is murdered in Venice. A grieving father hunts the killer through the fog.

A giallo soaked in grief and Venetian fog. After his young daughter is murdered, a sculptor investigates a series of child killings and uncovers a conspiracy of respectable men. The subject is grim and the film treats it with more weight than the cycle usually managed, closer in spirit to Don't Look Now, which it predates.

George Lazenby, briefly the screen's James Bond, plays the father, and Ennio Morricone provides an unusually mournful children's-choir score. Melancholy and effective.
