Bride of Re-Animator

Brian Yuzna's sequel to Re-Animator, in which Herbert West and his reluctant partner move from reanimating the dead to assembling a whole new woman from spare parts, while a detachable head plots revenge. It is gorier, sillier and more excessive than the original, piling on inventive creature effects.

Jeffrey Combs is again perfect as West, growing more monstrous by the reel. It lacks the shock of the first film but doubles down on the mad-science gross-out, and the finale is a delirium of stitched-together body parts. A worthy, unhinged follow-up.
