Race with the Devil
Satanists chase a Winnebago across Texas. Better than that sounds.
Two vacationing couples in an RV witness a satanic sacrifice in the Texas desert, and the cult pursues them across the state in a film that is half road-movie, half occult paranoia. It is a lean, effective chase picture with a creeping sense that everyone they meet is in on it.
Peter Fonda and Warren Oates ground it, the RV-versus-cult set pieces are surprisingly tense, and the ending commits to the paranoia completely. It gets more out of its simple premise than it has any right to.
An underrated 70s drive-in gem where the devil actually wins.
