Tromeo and Juliet
Body piercings, a penis monster, and Lemmy on narration. Troma's actual masterpiece.
Troma pours Shakespeare through a wood chipper and comes out with a New Jersey feud, body piercings, a rubbery mutation nobody who sees it forgets, and Lemmy from Motorhead reading the prologue in full leather. It was co-written by a young James Gunn, years before Marvel let him do essentially the same thing with a bigger budget, and his fingerprints are all over the gleeful bad taste. Lloyd Kaufman directs it as pure gross-out affection for both the source and cheap film, and the tagline promised body piercing, Kama Sutra and cars crashing, which fairly summarises the contents. Dumb on purpose and funnier than it has any right to be. The strongest case for Troma the studio ever put on screen.

The first shot-on-video horror feature, blown up to 35mm and just as ugly as that sounds.
The Burning Moon
Shot-on-video German splatter so homemade you can smell the garage. Ittenbach's Herschell Gordon Lewis tribute act.
She-Devils on Wheels
H.G. Lewis hands the gore to a real biker gang. The acting is a crime; the piano wire is the point.
Assault! Jack the Ripper
A couple who find that killing is the only thing that works, followed all the way down.
The Eternal Evil of Asia
Black magic, exploding wizards, and a curse that turns a man's head into a penis. Cat III lost its mind.
Dr. Lamb
Simon Yam as the Rainy Night Butcher, fully off the leash. Cat III at its ugliest.
