Fair Game
A woman alone at an outback wildlife reserve is hunted by three kangaroo poachers. Lean and nasty.
A tense Australian survival thriller in which a woman running an isolated outback wildlife sanctuary is terrorised by three brutal kangaroo hunters who treat her as prey. It is lean, mean and effective, wringing real menace out of the empty landscape and the casual cruelty of its villains.
Its imagery, above all a shot of the heroine strapped to the front of the hunters' truck, is striking, and the film has been cited as an influence on Mad Max: Fury Road. A tough, underseen entry from the tail end of the Ozploitation boom.
