Turkey Shoot

The budget vanished mid-shoot and they kept going. Chaotic, mean, fun.

The budget collapsed partway through and the production simply kept going, which gives this Ozploitation dystopia a demented, anything-goes energy. Inmates of a future re-education camp are hunted for sport by the elite, and the film piles on gore, camp and cruelty with no restraint whatsoever.

It is a mess, and the mess is most of the fun. Nobody involved seems to have agreed on what tone they were aiming for, so they hit all of them. Later reappraised as trash of a very entertaining kind.

Chaotic, tasteless and weirdly beloved.
