Long Weekend
A couple litter, and Australia decides to kill them. Excellent.
A miserable couple take their troubles camping and treat the bush with contempt, littering, shooting, running things over. The bush responds. There is no monster and no curse, just an accumulating sense that the whole environment has decided against them.
It is one of the best eco-horror films because it never explains itself. Nature here is not supernatural, only patient. The couple are unlikeable in a way that makes their unravelling satisfying rather than tragic.
Quiet, dread-soaked, and completely effective.
