Frankenhooker
A man rebuilds his dead girlfriend from the parts of exploded sex workers. Exactly that stupid, and great.
Frank Henenlotter's tasteless comic masterpiece, in which a grieving amateur scientist reassembles his lawnmower-killed girlfriend using body parts harvested from sex workers he blows up with super-crack. The result comes back wrong. It is exactly as stupid and as gleeful as that sounds.
Henenlotter directs it as pure New York exploitation cartoon, with James Lorinz's deadpan lead grounding the lunacy. It is gross, funny and weirdly sweet under the splatter. One of the great bad-taste comedies, and a Henenlotter high point.

A stage magician whose tricks are real. Lewis's most interesting idea.
