Yor, the Hunter from the Future

It begins as a caveman fantasy, dinosaurs, tribes, a blond hero in a loincloth, and then, with no warning, becomes a science-fiction film about androids and a laser-armed overlord in a space fortress. The tonal whiplash is the whole reason it is remembered. Reb Brown shouts his way through both halves.

Antonio Margheriti cut it down from an Italian TV miniseries, which explains the structural insanity, and the theme song, which loudly insists Yor is the hunter from the future, is unforgettable. It commits totally to its own confusion.

A gloriously incoherent genre collision. Watch it with disbelief and affection.
