Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky
A live-action gore manga where nobody has heard of restraint or arterial pressure.
Adapted from a Japanese manga and set in a privatised near-future prison, this is the one where a superhuman inmate punches so hard that heads pop, jaws detach, and one warlord tries to strangle him with his own unspooled intestines. Lam Nai-choi plays the escalating carnage with a completely straight face, and that straight face is the whole joke, since the gore runs so far past plausible that gravity itself seems to have quit. Louis Fan is the impossibly noble hero, flexing his stomach muscles to stop a knife. It is the friendliest, funniest film on the Cat III shelf, assuming your idea of friendly runs to a man fed through a meat grinder.

Bamboo House of Dolls
Shaw Brothers takes on the WIP film. As strange a combination as it sounds.
The Burning Moon
Shot-on-video German splatter so homemade you can smell the garage. Ittenbach's Herschell Gordon Lewis tribute act.
TNT Jackson
Cirio Santiago's Manila blaxploitation at full tilt, remembered for one fight staged in the dark.
She-Devils on Wheels
H.G. Lewis hands the gore to a real biker gang. The acting is a crime; the piano wire is the point.
Boardinghouse
The first shot-on-video horror feature, blown up to 35mm and just as ugly as that sounds.
Human Lanterns
A Shaw wuxia that turns into a slasher, with lanterns made of human skin.
